The global settings no longer supported the powerful, complex software SimplePractice had become. There was no clear product owner of Settings, so it became a screen full of links with no structure.

We conducted a competitor analysis and customer research. We conducted live user interviews and did unmoderated testing with Maze . I wrote settings principles to align with stakeholders and guide our decisions. I restructured the information architecture and rewrote page names and descriptions to add clarity. When the news Settings launched, we offered customers a toggle. They could choose to turn on the new Settings before it officially replaced the current experience.
